Our Promise
At Jagannath Institute of Health Science and Research(JIHSR), we strictly do not allow ragging. We are committed to creating a safe, friendly, and respectful environment where every student feels comfortable and supported.
What is Ragging?
Ragging means any behavior that makes a student feel scared, uncomfortable, or humiliated. This can include:
- Physical harm or harassment
- Using insulting or abusive words
- Forcing someone to do something they do not want to do
- Online bullying or harassment
- Any action that hurts a person’s dignity or safety
Law Against Ragging
Ragging is a serious crime under Indian law, as per the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009.
Students found guilty of ragging may face:
- Suspension or removal from the institute
- Fine and/or legal action
- Cancellation of admission
Steps We Take to Prevent Ragging
- Orientation programs to explain anti-ragging rules
- An Anti-Ragging Committee and Squad to monitor the campus
- CCTV cameras in important areas of the campus and hostel
- A system to report complaints anonymously
